Winterval 2014 kicked off the festive season on Friday November 14th, when Santa arrived at the House of Waterford Crystal on the Mall in Waterford. Santa delivered a giant block of ice to the Master Craftsmen at Waterford Crystal; they will transform the block of ice into a set of seasonal sculptures.
A delivery of the half-tonne block of ice, which was towed by Santa all the way from the North Pole according to Winterval festival organisers, was presented to the House of Waterford Crystal. The block of ice will be turned into ice and crystal sculptures that will be unveiled at the Winterval Ice Rink on the Quay on Saturday, November 29th.
