Waterford Welcomes the Celebrity Infinity

The largest cruise ship to visit Waterford City in 2014 is the Celebrity Infinity. Docking in the picturesque village of Dunmore East on June 17th, the Celebrity Infinity had 3,000 passengers and 1,200 crew on board.

The Celebrity Infinity is a 91,000-ton cruise ship that was launched in 2001 as Infinity, and renamed Celebrity Infinity in 2007. In December 2011, the Celebrity Infinity was extensively refurbished. The Infinity is a Millennium Class cruise ship is owned and operated by Celebrity Cruises, who has its headquarters in Miami, Florida.

The magnificent cruise ship is 964.6 feet in length and spans 12 impressive decks. The heart of Celebrity Infinity’s public areas features an amazing multi-story Grand Foyer, a three-deck atrium dominated by a translucent, backlit onyx stairway that glows beneath its passengers feet.

Entertainment venues include the three-deck Celebrity Theater, the clubby Michael’s Club piano bar, the contemporary Rendez-Vous Lounge, Fortunes Casino, and the elegant Cosmos Observation Lounge and disco.

The Infinity’s 25,000-square-foot spa is an oasis of steam rooms; rooms for massages, facials and a soothing thalassotherapy under a glass solarium roof. There are also two pools, four hot tubs and a gym on-board this magnificent vessel.

For dining, Infinity guests have several options including the Trellis Restaurant, Tuscan Grille, the Blu, the Oceanview Cafe and Grill buffet restaurant and the Bistro on Five. The Crystal Infinity‘s main specialty restaurant is the elegant SS United States restaurant, which is decorated with etched-glass panels from the legendary 1950s ocean liner United States, the fastest liner ever built.

Waterford Cruise Co-op

The Cruise co -op supports the marketing and promotion of Waterford City as a port destination on international cruise itineraries. The sales and marketing programme includes presentations and promotions to all major cruise line companies in North America & Europe.

The co-op provides a consumer map to all visitors, which provides practical information on places to shop, things to do in the city & emergency contact numbers. It supports the provision of a coach transfer service to visitors from the port, to the city and back when required, for cruise ships that visit the city.

The Waterford Cruise co-op provides guides to promote “things to do in the city "on aboard cruise ships when they arrive in Waterford.
