2014 Irish America Hall of Fame
Irish America magazine celebrated the 2014 Irish America Hall of Fame Inductees on March 12th.
Founded in 2010, the Irish America Hall of Fame honours the extraordinary achievements of Irish-American leaders, from their significant accomplishments and contributions to American society to the personal commitment to safeguarding their Irish heritage and the betterment of Ireland.
Inducted at the Annual Hall of Fame Luncheon were talk-show hosts Bill O’Reilly and Chris Matthews; Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley; Famine scholar Christine Kinealy; businessmen and champions for Ireland Andrew McKenna (chairman of the McDonald’s Corporation), Patrick Ryan (chairman and CEO of Ryan Specialty Group), and Brian Stack (CEO of CIE Tours International); and the inspiring McDonald family, the first family to be inducted into the Irish America Hall of Fame.
Each inductee was presented with an engraved Colleen Bowl, produced in the factory at the House of Waterford Crystal.
Inductees included Brian W. Stack, managing director of CIE Tours International, one of the largest producers of tourists to Ireland. CIE Tours International brought 16,000 visitors to the House of Waterford Crystal in 2013, visiting both the Retail Store and taking the guided tour of the factory.
