Waterford Crystal has a long tradition of providing handcrafted trophies to major sporting events around the world, including tennis, Formula 1, sailing and especially golf. The World’s top sporting events still turn to Waterford Crystal when they want to reward their best athletes.

The House of Waterford Crystal was commissioned to create a new bespoke Irish Open Trophy, one of the oldest championships on the PGA European Tour. The Irish Open took place in Killarney from July 28th to 31st and was won by York's Simon Dyson. Additionally, Waterford Crystal also provided the prizes for one of the highlights of the week, the pre-tournament Pro-Am competition.

People's Choice Trophy

People's Choice teamed up with Waterford Crystal, to design and create a special new trophy for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards show. The three 14-inch Waterford trophies were created at the Waterford Crystal factory and were modelled after this year’s official People’s Choice logo. The statues were handcrafted and designed by artisans at the House of Waterford Crystal in Waterford City, Ireland. The trophies were presented on January 5th during People's Choice Awards 2011.
